Time travel is possible
A conversation on the subject of "time travel. Black holes and wormholes. The speaker is Anatoly Cherepashchuk, head of the department of stellar astrophysics at the Sternberg Astronomical Institute of Moscow State University.
The power of the Moon
In the near future, with the energy crisis, we shall one way or another exhaust the Earth's mineral resources. There is a project now to extract oil from the floor of the Arctic Ocean. But what difficulties will there be, and what will that oil cost? It will probably be cheaper to bring minerals from the Moon than to dig them out from under the ice. The speaker is Vladislav Shevchenko, professor at Moscow State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, a specialist in astronomical geodesy, a member of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute of Moscow State University and head of its Department of Lunar and Planetary Research. He is the author of two hundred scientific publications, among them eleven monographs.

The hadron collider “choked” on a piece of bread
European specialists appear to have found the cause of the breakdown of the Large Hadron Collider, which lies on the border between France and Switzerland. What most probably stopped the machine was a piece of bread. The bread landed on a contact in a power supply unit and caused a short circuit. Engineers think a bird may have brought the baguette, or that it fell from an aircraft. Specialists plan to have the LHC working again by the end of the month. It should be recalled that the Large Hadron Collider is the world's largest accelerator of elementary particles. Scientists are using it in an attempt to model the origin of the Universe. The collider began work on 10 September 2008, but after only 9 days it failed because of a fault in the electrical system of the magnets inside the underground tunnel. A spark then sent several tonnes of liquid helium into the accelerator's working areas.

The Large Hadron Collider, at last!
Protons have collided in the Large Hadron Collider for the first time. The collider was restarted on 20 November 2009.

The unimaginable nature of nature. Richard Feynman
The famous physicist and Nobel Prize laureate Richard Feynman talks about how unimaginable the complex processes are that go on around us all the time, though we do not always notice them.

The water bridge
A current is passed into two flasks of water standing close together and the water begins to flow across, creating a figurative bridge; the higher the voltage, the further the bridge can be stretched

A mysterious phenomenon of quantum physics
An astonishing observation in the world of quantum physics, one that makes you think about the nature of matter and the part played by the observer. It turns out that the observer takes a direct part in shaping reality!
The riddle of quantum physics
This video shows the connection between electrons and their inseparability in the world of quanta. This unique property raises a number of questions to which humanity has yet to find the answer!
