Leonid Ivanovich Kiselevsky (born 12.04.1927) is a Soviet physicist and an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR (1980). He was born in Minsk. He graduated from Byelorussian University (1952). In 1958-78 he worked at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR (deputy director from 1971). From 1978 he has been chief scientific secretary of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian SSR.
His research is in the field of plasma physics and plasma technology. He developed methods of obtaining highly stable electric-discharge plasma and of plasma diagnostics. He found and explained the particular behaviour of plasma expanding into a vacuum in the region where it comes into contact with a surface. Together with his colleagues he built an automated system of plasma diagnostics and plasma generators of high stability, and he developed a method of plasma hardening and decorative surface treatment of building materials.
A State Prize of the Byelorussian SSR (1974).
