Pixii, Hippolyte

Hippolyte Pixii (1808 -1835) was a French inventor. He designed various physical instruments. In 1832 he constructed the first magneto-electric machine working on the principle of electromagnetic induction (an alternating-current generator). Using Ampère's commutator, he obtained a current of one direction in the external circuit.
