Wallace Clement Sabine (13.06.1868-10.01.1919) was an American physicist and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He was born in Richwood. He graduated from Ohio State University (1886) and Harvard University (1888). He worked at the latter (professor from 1905).
His research concerned chiefly acoustics. He discovered the law named after him (Sabine's law) and laid the foundations of architectural acoustics. The unit of sound absorption, the sabin, is named after him.
