Armin Uhlmann (born 19.02.1930) - a German theoretical physicist, member of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR (1972). Born in Chemnitz (now Karl-Marx-Stadt, GDR). He graduated from Leipzig University (1954). In 1958 — 60 he worked at the Institute of Theoretical Physics of Jena University, and from 1960 at Leipzig University (from 1962 as professor). In 1965-66 and 1973-74 he also worked at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna.
His work was devoted to general relativity, quantum field theory and statistical physics.
