Bose gas, (named after the Indian physicist Sh. Bose), a quantum gas of microparticles with zero or integer spin which obeys Bose — Einstein statistics. A Bose gas of non-interacting particles is called an ideal Bose gas. Bose gases include the photon gas and also the gases of certain quasiparticles (for example, phonons).
