Vladimir Mikhailovich Lobashev (born 29.07.1934) is a Soviet experimental physicist and a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1970). He was born in Leningrad. He graduated from Leningrad University (1957). In 1957—72 he worked at the Leningrad Physico-Technical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and from 1972 at the Institute for Nuclear Research of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
His research concerned nuclear physics and the physics of the weak interactions. He studied the effects connected with the non-conservation of spatial parity in beta decay, and the weak nucleon-nucleon interaction. Together with others he detected experimentally (1964) the non-conservation of parity in the gamma decay of nuclei, thereby proving the existence of a weak interaction between nucleons in the nucleus (the Lenin Prize, 1974).
