Virtual laboratory experiments
This section presents virtual laboratory experiments in physics. Laboratory work in physics builds the skills of carrying out experiments and of understanding instruments. It gives the chance to learn to draw conclusions from experimental data on one's own, and so to take in the theory more deeply and more fully.
A virtual laboratory experiment. "Atwood's machine. Testing Newton's second law".
Aim of the experiment: to test Newton's second law.
A virtual laboratory experiment. "Determining the coefficient of internal friction of a liquid by Stokes' method".
Aim of the experiment: to become acquainted with the method of determining the coefficient of internal friction of a liquid from the speed at which a ball falls through that liquid.
A virtual laboratory experiment. "Relations between quantities in rotational motion".
Aim of the experiment: to use an Oberbeck pendulum to check how the angular acceleration depends on the torque and on the moment of inertia.
A virtual laboratory experiment. "A study of the simple pendulum".
Aim of the experiment: to study the damped and undamped oscillations of a simple pendulum.
A virtual laboratory experiment. "A study of the spring pendulum".
Aim of the experiment: to study the damped and undamped oscillations of a spring pendulum.
A virtual laboratory experiment. "A study of the transformer".
Aim of the experiment: to study the operation of a transformer in 3 modes: under load, at no load and in short circuit.
